Attended an obsequy of mami's auntie at Xiao En Centre yesterday.
I can't believe that obsequy these days is so much different from the old-time ones.
Now, people can hold an obsequy in an air-cond place and with foods and drinks provided to the attendees.
To me, the old-time obsequy was always mournful, solemn and the place was smoky.
I remember so well when the time my grandfather passed away, the family was not allowed to dress up in colourful outfit for 3 years. That was the old-time custom.
Now, the modern obsequy is less mournful, less solemn (very much lesser), and non-smoky at all. Everyone has to change on red clothes right after the forefather is buried.
This is the so called simple, convenience and modern custom.

Some aunties looking at the ceremony and the man sitting there in charges in collecting 'white-gold'.
Do you think the people here look like they were attending an obsequy? More to like a party or union right? They had buffet there somemore. Some uncles and aunties even sat at the outside chit-chatting, drinking coffees just like what people do when they are at Starbucks.
On more, the place was so noisy!

I think this place looks like a cafeteria.
Everyone busy eating, drinking and chatting.
